World Refugee Week - Global Iftar Fundraiser

  • Amnesty International UK Human Rights Action Centre, 25 New Inn Yard London EC2A 3EA UK

Welcome Cinema + Kitchen are proud to celebrate World Refugee Week - Global Iftar Fundraiser.

On 22nd June we invite people from all backgrounds and faiths to break-fast together in the spirit of this year’s theme, Our Shared Future. In a time of much needed compassion toward strangers and friends an evening of unity is worth celebrating.

Our special event begins with a screening of the critically acclaimed BARAKA.
'In the ancient Sufi language, BARAKA translates as ‘the thread that weaves life together’. Shot in breath-taking 70mm in 24 countries on six continents, BARAKA is a transcendent global tour that explores the sights and sounds of the human condition like nothing you’ve ever seen or felt before.'

The Welcome Kitchen’s famous supper club will be served after sundown observing Ramadan. This month’s delicious menu lists food from Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Senegal, Somalia and Libya.
